Alpaca
We will build a cosmic ray observatory at the foot of Mount Chacaltaya, in Bolivia. Its scientific objectives include the study of the galactic center through gamma rays, the observation of the differential spectrum of energy by species of the cosmic rays, the study of anisotropies of the galactic cosmic rays and the study of the magnetic fields of the solar corona.
The observatory will consist of several scintillation detectors at surface level and eight underground pools, for the detection of muons.
ALPACA is a collaboration between Bolivia and Japan.
